Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA)

PDF Print E-mail

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) along with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), founded the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA). Dedicated to promoting sustainable urban development in Asia, CDIA links interested Asian cities to the resources they need worldwide. CDIA also cooperates with existing city networks in fostering urban management capabilities.

CDIA was established to help cities meet the challenges such as provision of clean water, sanitation, transportation, power and housing to the millions of new residents. CDIA enables cities to find and use international expertise to develop bankable, workable infrastructure projects and to build their capacity in these areas.
