suggestionsTo ensure that the Agreement in Copenhagen fully enables mitigation and adaptation actions in transport, the Bridging the Gap-Initiative have developed a set of concrete text suggestions to the most recent non-papers, which will form the basis for the negotiations at the COP15.

Our key messages for the current text include:

  • A shared vision – Recognise transport as crucial sector to implement the shared vision.

  • Adaptation – Recognise transport as a highly vulnerable sector.

  • Mitigation – Enable mitigation actions in transport in both developed and developing countries by supporting NAMAs and sectoral cooperative approaches.

  • Technology – Support the development, transfer and application of transport technology, including those for public transport and non-motorised transport.

  • Financial Resources – Provide adequate, predictable and accessible funding for low carbon sustainable transport
