On November 3, 2009, the Bridging the Gap Initiative (GTZ, TRL, UITP and Veolia Transport) successfully hold a Side Event at the Barcelona Climate talks. The initiative presented the need to act in the transport sector and presented the latest suggestion for the negotiations within the AWG-LCA. Delegates from South Africa, Indonesia, France, Turkey, the European Commission and other parties attended the event and had lively discussion if there are still ways to make the climate agreement of Copenhagen trigger sustainable transport policies in developing countries.
